Team Academy for Veterans
Team Academy for Veterans is a 501c3 Non-Profit started by Lukas Lovett, Sarah Teriele, Daniel Elliot, and Gary Elmore. These Veterans met in Evergreen State College’s Changemaker’s Lab earning their Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Sharing the same vision for the future of the Veteran community, they started TA for Vets to increase the successful rate of transition of military personnel.
Our program is designed to help Veterans find purpose, vision, and meaning in their new life as a civilian. Through vision and shared vision, personal mastery, and systems and design thinking, our participants will be able pursue and succeed in their chosen path whether it be entrepreneurship or a career in any given field.
Our program follow methods, theories, and processes developed by some of the greatest minds around the world from Tiimiakatemia in Finland to MIT’s U-Lab. These institutions are at the forefront of creating immense change globally and stive for the betterment of our societies. We have recognized that the practice these methods greatly increase quality of life, drive you to follow your passion, and live the life you envision
Biographies:
Lukas Lovett – Executive Director of Team Academy for Veterans

Lukas Lovett is a U.S. Army veteran who served in the prestigious 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Throughout his five-year military career, Lukas earned Airborne and Ranger qualifications and completed two deployments in support of the Global War on Terror. As a Ranger, Lukas honed his leadership skills, growing into a highly capable and effective leader.
After his service, Lukas attended The Evergreen State College, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During his academic journey, Lukas became deeply passionate about addressing the challenges facing veterans, particularly their transition to civilian life. He is committed to helping veterans find purpose, vision, and success in their post-military careers, striving to empower them to live healthy, fulfilling lives.

Daniel Elliott – Co-Founder of Team Academy for Veterans

Daniel Elliott is a U.S. Army veteran with over a decade of service, including two deployments in support of the Global War on Terror. As a Chaplain Assistant, Daniel led numerous community engagement initiatives, provided suicide prevention training, and advocated for men’s mental health. His military career instilled a strong sense of discipline, teamwork, and service to others.
After transitioning from the Army, Daniel pursued a career as a personal trainer and is currently studying Business Administration at Evergreen State College. His commitment to health, fitness, and discipline continues to guide his approach to both fitness coaching and veteran mentorship. Daniel works passionately to help veterans and youth build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through physical activity.
Daniel’s mantra, “Discipline will take you places motivation can’t,” reflects his belief in the power of structure and perseverance in achieving long-term goals.
Sarah Teriele – Co-Founder of Team Academy for Veterans

Sarah Teriele is a former U.S. Army Correctional Officer with a decade of service, including assignments in South Korea, JBLM Washington, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Sarah’s military career was marked by her exceptional leadership and dedication to helping others achieve their goals. She earned her Associate’s degree while serving and encouraged her peers to pursue their educational aspirations.
After leaving the military, Sarah continued her academic journey at The Evergreen State College, working toward her Bachelor’s degree. During this time, she embarked on her own personal healing journey, which fueled her passion for helping others heal from childhood trauma. This transformative experience led Sarah to discover her true calling: guiding individuals to reclaim their self-worth, heal from past trauma, and cultivate self-love. Sarah is dedicated to empowering people to not only navigate their trauma but thrive with it, fostering resilience, growth, and healing.
